Do All
This was taken by my grandfather, Gus Mangsen. I have a bunch of his slides and I just liked the sign in this one (and clearly he did too). I’ve also filed it into a new category called “The Sunday Scan.” Moving forward, each Sunday I’m going to try and scan a negative or print from my own photos, or something from my family archive. A kind of personal/archive category from the pre-digital days (I’m also retroactively adding existing scans to this new category).

I wonder what he thought about it? The small company he worked for in Chicago, Greenlee Diamond Tools, was bought out, I believe, by DoAll. I’m not sure how he felt about that. Maybe he just liked the clouds.

Wow, I had no idea about the personal connection with the company. I liked the sign because it uses the same font (Futura) that I use for my site logo…
